Each week, year 4 enjoy a lesson outdoors in our nature garden.
This week they were looking for bugs and mini beasts as part of a conservation project.
They had to create tables and tally charts to log every creature found.
The children had to draw their own tables and a method of recording data.
They were then able to use maths language to describe their findings. For example – the most common bug, the least common creature, the difference in amount of creatures.
They were also able to use diagrams to classify creatures using their features. For example, Venn diagrams showing six legged creatures and creatures which could fly.
